Academus Training Institute is an Australian Registered Training Organisation operated by SBSS Management Pty Ltd.

Minimum Age & Student Responsibility

Some courses offered by Academus Training Institute may have minimum age, identity, licensing, language, literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, residency, work rights, or industry-entry requirements.

Students are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during enquiry, enrolment, training, assessment, and certification processes is true, accurate, current and complete.

Licensing Disclaimer Where a course is connected to licensing or regulatory approval, students must understand that completion of training does not automatically guarantee the granting of a licence, employment, government approval, or third-party acceptance. Final licensing or approval decisions are made by the relevant regulator or authority.

Communications

Academus Training Institute may contact students, prospective students, employers, staff, contractors, regulators, or other relevant parties for legitimate business, training, compliance, enrolment, student support, assessment, certification, marketing, or service-related purposes.

Communication may occur by email, phone, SMS, online form, learning management system, student management system, postal mail, or other reasonable communication channels.

Students and website users may unsubscribe from promotional or marketing communication where an unsubscribe option is available. However, unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential service-related communications, including enrolment updates, course requirements, compliance notices, and certification updates.

Right to Disconnect

Academus Training Institute respects reasonable communication boundaries. Students, staff, contractors and stakeholders are not expected to respond to non-urgent communication outside reasonable hours unless the matter is urgent, safety-related, compliance-related, time-sensitive, or previously agreed.

Automated system messages, enrolment reminders, assessment reminders, compliance notices, or learning platform notifications may be sent outside normal business hours. Recipients may choose when to read and respond to such messages unless urgent action is required.

How We Collect Information

Where practical, Academus Training Institute collects personal information directly from the individual through various channels including website forms, email communication, phone enquiries, enrolment forms, identity checks, LLND assessments, attendance records, assessment documents, payment systems, and complaint and appeal forms.

Where information is collected from a third party, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the individual is aware of the collection where required.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Academus Training Institute may use commercially available artificial intelligence tools to assist with business administration, content development, training resources, student support planning, quality assurance, compliance review, communication drafting, data analysis, and service improvement.

AI & Personal Information Personal information must not be entered into AI systems unless there is a valid business purpose, appropriate authority, and reasonable privacy protection. Sensitive information must not be processed through AI tools unless consent has been obtained or the use is otherwise permitted by law.

Academus Training Institute will not rely solely on AI-generated information to make decisions that materially affect a student without appropriate human review. Where AI is used, reasonable steps will be taken to check accuracy, relevance and fairness before information is used.

Academus Training Institute may maintain an internal AI register identifying approved AI tools, permitted uses, prohibited uses, risk controls, and staff responsibilities.

Retention & Disposal of Records

Academus Training Institute keeps records in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and RTO recordkeeping requirements. Student training, assessment and certification records may need to be retained for extended periods, including where required by RTO, ASQA, AVETMISS, USI, licensing or other regulatory obligations.

Where information is no longer required and there is no legal requirement to retain it, Academus Training Institute will take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify the information. Paper records may be securely shredded or destroyed. Electronic records may be archived, deleted or de-identified in accordance with system capability and legal requirements.

Course Information & Enrolment

Submitting an enquiry or registering interest does not automatically confirm enrolment, reserve a place, guarantee acceptance, or guarantee licensing eligibility. Enrolment is subject to:

Payments, Fees & Refunds

Course fees, promotional fees, payment due dates, refund conditions and cancellation rules will be provided before or during enrolment. All prices are listed in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.

Payment may be required before enrolment confirmation, course commencement, assessment, certification, or access to certain services. Refunds are handled in accordance with the Academus Training Institute refund policy and applicable Australian Consumer Law requirements.

Promotional Offers

From time to time, Academus Training Institute may advertise promotional offers. Unless stated otherwise:

  • Promotional places are limited
  • Registering interest does not automatically reserve a place
  • Enrolment is not confirmed until all required enrolment steps are completed

  • Offers cannot always be combined with other discounts
  • Academus Training Institute may withdraw or amend a promotion where reasonable and lawful

Users must not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, modify, upload, share, or use Academus Training Institute materials for commercial or unauthorised purposes without written permission. Students may use course materials for their personal study only.

Student Accounts & Online Access

Where students are provided access to an online system, student portal, learning platform or digital resource, students are responsible for keeping login details secure. Students must not share usernames, passwords, access links, training materials, assessment content, or restricted resources with any other person.

Academus Training Institute may suspend or restrict access where there is suspected misuse, account sharing, security risk, academic misconduct, non-payment, or breach of terms.

User Content & Submitted Information

Where a student or website user submits information, documents, comments, evidence, assessment responses, feedback, reviews or other content to Academus Training Institute, they confirm that the information is true and accurate, they have permission to provide it, and it does not infringe another person's rights or contain harmful content.

Academus Training Institute may remove, reject or refuse to use submitted content where it is inappropriate, unsafe, unlawful, false, misleading, irrelevant or in breach of policy.

Reviews & Feedback

Where a student or client provides a review, testimonial, rating or feedback, Academus Training Institute may use that feedback for quality improvement, compliance review, staff development, reporting, marketing or promotional purposes. Personal information will not be published without appropriate consent.

Academus Training Institute may choose not to publish feedback that is offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, misleading, false, or inappropriate.

Students and clients may raise concerns, complaints or appeals in accordance with the Academus Training Institute complaints and appeals policy. Complaints should be made respectfully and include relevant details, dates, evidence and desired outcome where possible.

Academus Training Institute will review complaints fairly, objectively and within a reasonable timeframe.
