Personal information will not be disclosed to overseas recipients unless permitted under the Privacy Act and where appropriate safeguards are in place. Government-related identifiers, such as a Unique Student Identifier (USI), are used only where required for regulatory and compliance purposes. ATI takes reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information is accurate, up to date, and complete. All information is securely

stored within student management systems, with access restricted to authorised personnel only. Students have the right to request access to their personal information held by ATI. Where access is requested, the information will be provided unless there is a lawful reason to refuse. If access cannot be granted, the reasons will be clearly explained.

Part 51 Copyright Law

ATI complies with the Copyright Act 1968, which governs the use and protection of intellectual property, including training materials and resources. Students and staff must ensure that copying, reproducing, or sharing textbooks, assessment tools, or other materials does not breach copyright requirements. All individuals are expected to follow copyright conditions outlined in the relevant documents.

Part 52 National Vocational Education and Training

Regulator (ASQA)

The National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act

2012 provides authority to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to regulate Registered Training Organisations across

Australia. ASQA is responsible for monitoring compliance,

conducting audits, applying regulatory actions where required, and setting standards for record keeping and operational practices. ATI is committed to maintaining compliance at all times. The CEO holds direct responsibility for ensuring participation in external monitoring, reporting, and review processes conducted by ASQA and other relevant authorities. This includes cooperating with audits and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.

Part 53 Liquor & Gaming NSW

Under NSW legislation, individuals working in licensed venues with alcohol or gaming machine responsibilities must complete approved training such as Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG). These courses provide students with an understanding of their legal responsibilities and the harm minimisation framework applicable within the liquor and gaming industries. Liquor & Gaming NSW is responsible for enforcement, compliance monitoring, investigations, and administration of training schemes, including the issuing of competency cards. Compliance officers may conduct inspections and enforcement activities under delegated authority from the relevant government department.

Part 54 NSW Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate

(SLED) Security activities in New South Wales are regulated under the Security Industry Act 1997 and Security Industry Regulation. These laws are designed to ensure a professional security industry with high standards of competency, integrity, and accountability. The Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED), part of NSW Police, is responsible for administering and enforcing these requirements.

  • Licences may be issued for one (1) or five (5) years and may be suspended or cancelled by the Commissioner of Police
  • Photo identification licences are issued to Class 1 and Class 2 licence holders and must be worn at all times while working, unless exempted
  • Security training linked to licensing can only be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation approved by the Commissioner of Police
  • Licence applicants may be required to undergo fingerprinting and identity verification processes

When delivering units from CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations linked to NSW licensing requirements, ATI follows the

Security Licence Course (SLC) materials, manuals, and

assessment tools approved by the Commissioner. Students and staff should be aware that training sessions may be subject to audit by the NSW Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED), and they may be asked to provide feedback or respond to observations during such audits.

Part 55 Protection of Children and Minors

Academus Training Institute (ATI) does not enrol students under the age of 18 in its courses. ATI is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all individuals on its premises. Staff and students are expected to ensure that any child or minor present at the premises is protected from any form of harm, including harassment or inappropriate behaviour. Any actual, suspected, or inappropriate conduct must be reported immediately to the CEO. ATI will take all reasonable steps to ensure the protection of staff, students, and visitors, including protection from false or unfair allegations.

Fees, Refunds & Complaints
Part 56 Fee and Refund Policy

Academus Training Institute (ATI) charges fees for training and assessment services that lead to nationally recognised qualifications or statements of attainment. These fees may include course fees, learning materials, student services, and assessment costs.

Part 57 Methods of Payment (Applicable to All Courses)

Fees can be paid via cash, credit or debit card, bank transfer, or approved electronic payment methods. Payment must be made in advance to confirm enrolment. Students are required to pay the full fee prior to commencing training, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Failure to make payment as required may result in cancellation of enrolment or refusal to commence or continue training. Where payment is made by cheque, enrolment will only be confirmed once the cheque has cleared.

Part 58 Schedule of Fees and Charges

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for approving ATI's

Schedule of Fees and Charges. This schedule includes

  • The total cost of the course, including tuition, administration, and material fees
  • Payment terms, including due dates and any applicable nonrefundable fees
  • ATI's commitment to deliver training and assessment services once a student has commenced

  • Fees for additional services such as re-issuing certificates, reassessment, or course transfers
  • The applicable refund policy and conditions
Part 59 Giving Notice of Enrolment Cancellation

Students who wish to cancel their enrolment must provide written notice to Academus Training Institute (ATI) via email or formal letter. Verbal notification will not be accepted. Upon receiving the initial notice, ATI staff will contact the student to ensure they understand their rights in relation to refunds and available options. Where appropriate, students may be offered alternative options such as suspending their enrolment or transferring to a future course date instead of cancelling. Students who are eligible for a refund and have submitted written notice will be provided with a Fee Refund Request Form. Students who are not automatically eligible but wish to request a refund will also be required to complete this form, and the request will be reviewed and decided by the Chief Executive Officer.

Part 60 Fee Refund Policy - CPP20218 Certificate II in

Security Operations

The full course fee must be paid in advance to confirm enrolment. The total course fee includes a non-refundable administration fee of 30%. A refund of the remaining course fee (after deduction of the administration fee) will only be provided where ATI receives written notice of cancellation at least three (3) weeks (21 days) prior to the course commencement date. No refund will be provided in any of the following circumstances:

  • Where self-study or pre-course learning materials have already been issued
  • Where written notice of cancellation is received less than 21 days before course commencement
  • Where the booking was made within 21 days of the course start date and a refund is requested
  • Where the student withdraws voluntarily after the course has commenced
  • Where the student attends the course but is assessed as not yet competent Where applicable, students may receive a Statement of Attainment for any units of competency successfully completed.
Part 61 Fee Refund Policy - First Aid, CPR, RSA and

Security

Full payment of course fees is required in advance to confirm enrolment. A full refund will only be provided where written notice of cancellation is received at least three (3) weeks (21 days) prior to the course commencement date. No refund will be provided in any of the following circumstances:

  • Where notice of cancellation is received less than 21 days before course commencement

  • Where the student arrives late and is unable to participate
  • Where the student commences the course and withdraws voluntarily
  • Where the student is assessed as not yet competent
Part 62 Transfer of Course - Certificate II in Security

Operations

Students may request to transfer to another course date. One transfer will be permitted without penalty where written notice is received at least three (3) weeks (21 days) prior to the scheduled course commencement date. Any transfer request received within 21 days of the course commencement will be treated as a cancellation and will be subject to the applicable refund policy conditions. The enrolment period for the course is three (3) months from the date of booking. If a student does not complete the course within this period, the enrolment will be cancelled, and the student may be required to pay the full course fee again to re-enrol, at the discretion of ATI. If a student does not complete Cluster 1 of the Class 1A course, they will be withdrawn from the course and will be required to pay a rejoining fee of 50% of the course fee (inclusive of GST) to recommence. If a student withdraws from any cluster of the Class 1A course after commencement, they will be required to rejoin a future class (subject to availability), recommence that cluster from the beginning, and pay a rejoining fee of 30% of the course fee (inclusive of GST).

Part 63 Transfer of Course (First Aid / RSA / CPR / Food

Safety Supervisor Skill Set)

Students who wish to transfer to another course date may do so once without penalty, provided ATI receives written notice of the transfer request at least three (3) weeks (21 days) prior to the commencement of the booked course. If less than 21 days' notice is provided, the request will be treated as a cancellation, and the applicable refund conditions will apply. If the booking was made within 21 days of the course commencement date, transfer is not available and will also be treated as a cancellation.

Part 64 Cancellation of Course by ATI

Where Academus Training Institute (ATI) cancels or is unable to deliver a scheduled course, a full refund of all fees paid will be provided to the student. Refunds will be processed within five (5) working days from the date of cancellation. Students will also be offered the option to transfer to an alternative course date without any penalty. If the student chooses not to accept an alternative course, they will receive a Statement of Attainment for any units of competency successfully completed, along with a full or partial refund depending on the amount of training completed.

Part 65 Method of Refund

All refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original transaction. For example, payments made by credit or debit card will be refunded back to the same card. Cash refunds will only be provided where the original payment was made in cash.

Part 66 Guarantee for Fees Paid in Advance

Academus Training Institute (ATI) guarantees the security of all fees paid in advance by or on behalf of students. A receipt will be issued for all payments, and funds will only be used for the intended training and assessment services. Fees paid in advance will not be used for any other purpose and will be managed in accordance with ATI's financial and compliance obligations. The refund policy will be applied in all cases where applicable. In the unlikely event of financial closure or inability to deliver training, ATI will make arrangements for the student to complete

the remaining training and assessment with another approved

Registered Training Organisation (RTO) at no additional cost.

Alternatively, students will have the option to withdraw and receive a full refund of unused fees along with a Statement of Attainment for any units successfully completed.

Part 67 Payment of GST

Course fees charged by Academus Training Institute (ATI) for

nationally recognised training are generally GST-free under Section 38-85 of the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999, as outlined in GST Ruling GSTR 2003/1. This ruling confirms that the supply of a course that is considered a professional or trade course is treated as a GST-free education service. Further information is available from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO): http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?docid=GST/GSTR20031/NA

T/ATO/00001

Where a student enrols in a unit of competency or a full qualification, the course fees associated with that enrolment are exempt from GST.

However, GST may apply to certain miscellaneous or additional

service charges, where applicable. Students should refer to ATI's

Schedule of Fees and Charges for full details.

Part 68 Other Fees

ATI may charge additional fees for certain services provided

outside the standard course delivery. These may include:

  • Re-issuance of a certificate or Statement of Attainment previously issued to the student
  • Replacement of learning materials that have been lost or damaged
  • Reassessment services where applicable
  • Photocopying or printing services Details of all additional fees and charges are outlined in the ATI Schedule of Fees and Charges. These fees may include GST where applicable and are charged on a cost-recovery basis only, and are not intended to generate profit.
Part 69 Student Complaints About Fees or Refunds

Students who are not satisfied with Academus Training Institute (ATI) arrangements relating to the collection of fees or the application of the refund policy are entitled to lodge a complaint. All complaints must be submitted and managed in accordance with

ATI's Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.

Part 70 Replacement Qualification or Statement of

Attainment

Requests for the re-issuance of a Qualification or Statement of Attainment (within 30 years of issue) must be made in writing to

ATI. The Chief Executive Officer will coordinate with the

administration team to retrieve and issue the required documentation. Students are required to submit a written request by completing the Participant Record Access (PRA) Form, which is available from the administration office, can be downloaded from the ATI website, or obtained by contacting ATI directly. All students must provide valid identification, such as a Driver Licence, Photo ID, or Passport. The details on the identification must match ATI records; otherwise, the request will not be processed. ATI charges a fee for the replacement of a Qualification or Statement of Attainment. The current fee is $55 (including GST).

Replacement documents will be issued within 14 working days

from the date of receiving the completed request.

Part 71 Student Complaints and Appeals Process

Academus Training Institute (ATI) is committed to providing highquality services and maintaining a fair and supportive learning environment. However, ATI recognises that concerns or grievances may arise from time to time. These may relate to academic or nonacademic matters, including assessment outcomes, attendance records, disciplinary actions, course fees, administrative services, facilities, or issues such as harassment, bullying, discrimination, unethical conduct, or other decisions affecting students. Where a student is dissatisfied, they have the right to lodge a complaint or appeal to seek a fair resolution. ATI has established a formal Complaints and Appeals Policy to ensure that all matters are handled fairly and consistently. To ensure the effectiveness of this process, ATI guarantees that all complaints and appeals are:

  • Accessible to all students
  • Managed confidentially
  • Free of charge
  • Addressed within 21 days where possible Students are encouraged to raise any concerns as early as possible so that they can be addressed promptly and effectively.
Part 72 Informal Approach Process

Students may raise a complaint or appeal informally by speaking to staff in person, by phone, via email, or through a third party. ATI

encourages early discussion so that issues can be resolved quickly and at the lowest level where possible. Staff will make reasonable efforts to contact the relevant parties and resolve the matter within their level of responsibility. Where the matter cannot be resolved informally, or where the issue is more serious, the student will be advised to proceed with a formal complaint using the ATI Complaint and Appeal Form, available from staff or via the website.

Part 73 Formal Approach Process

Formal complaints or appeals must be submitted in writing to ATI. This can be done in person, via email, through the website, or by other appropriate communication methods. Students are encouraged to use the official Complaint and Appeal Form to ensure all required details are provided. Upon receipt of a formal complaint or appeal, ATI will record the matter in the Complaints and Appeals Register. The student will receive an acknowledgement of receipt, including a complaint reference number, date, and staff confirmation. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for managing the process. This includes liaising with relevant staff and involved parties, conducting an investigation, gathering all necessary information, and working towards a fair and reasonable resolution. ATI will aim to resolve the matter in a way that is satisfactory to the student, where possible. The outcome of the complaint or appeal will be provided to the student in writing, including the reasons for the decision. If the student is not satisfied with the outcome, they have the right to escalate the matter to an independent third party, panel, or external body, as mutually agreed.

Part 74 Engagement of a Third Party

If a satisfactory resolution cannot be achieved after consultation with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ATI will arrange for the matter to be reviewed by an independent third party. A suitable independent person or panel will be mutually agreed upon by both the student (appellant) and Academus Training Institute (ATI).

This may involve an external Trainer/Assessor or an

independent mediation service such as Leadr or Inter

MEDIATE.

Leadr: http://www.leadriama.org/ InterMEDIATE: www.intermediate.com.au ATI will bear the cost of engaging the independent person or panel. The CEO is responsible for coordinating the identification and

engagement of the agreed mediator. The timeframe for resolution may be extended depending on the availability of the mediator or other unforeseen circumstances. Where the matter is resolved through mediation, the outcome will be documented, and no further action will be required. If the matter is resolved through mediation but the student remains dissatisfied, the student has the right to escalate the complaint to an external authority, including the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), which is the national regulator for Registered Training

Organisations.

Part 75 Lodging a Complaint with an External Organisation

Lodging a Complaint with ASQA

Students may lodge a complaint with ASQA after completing ATI's internal complaints and appeals process. If a student believes that ATI has breached, or is breaching, its legal or regulatory obligations, they may submit a complaint directly to ASQA.

Further information is available at

https://www.asqa.gov.au/complaints Phone: 1300 701 801 Email: enquiries@asqa.gov.au

Part 76 National Training Complaints Hotline

Students may also lodge a complaint through the National Training

Complaints Hotline.

Website: https://www.education.gov.au/NTCH Phone: 13 38 73 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm) Email: skilling@education.gov.au

The National Training Complaints Hotline provides access to

interpreting and relay services where required.

Part 77 Complaints of a Criminal Nature

Where a complaint involves criminal behaviour or where the safety and welfare of students or staff may be at risk, ATI will, with the consent of the student where appropriate, refer the matter to relevant authorities such as NSW Police, legal representatives, or other appropriate agencies. All such matters will be handled with strict confidentiality in accordance with applicable NSW legislation. The CEO is responsible for managing the engagement of external authorities in these circumstances.

Recognition & Student Support
Part 78 Credit Transfer Policy

Credit Transfer means credit towards a qualification granted to participants based on units of competency previously achieved through nationally recognised training with another Registered

Training Organisation (RTO).

Academus Training Institute (ATI) recognises qualifications and

Statements of Attainment issued by other Australian RTOs in

accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Credit Transfer is available to all students enrolling in any training program within ATI's scope of registration. Students are entitled to apply for Credit Transfer for any unit or qualification in which they are enrolled or intend to enrol. While applications can be made at any time, students are encouraged to apply before commencing training to avoid unnecessary duplication and to support an efficient pathway to completion. There are no fees charged for Credit Transfer, and no funding is received for granting Credit Transfer. Credit Transfer is only applicable to whole units of competency. Partial completion or mapping of a unit does not qualify for Credit Transfer. Credit Transfer will only be granted where the student is enrolled in at least one other unit of competency with ATI. Students cannot enrol solely for the purpose of obtaining Credit Transfer.

Part 79 Evidence Required

To apply for Credit Transfer, students must provide a Statement of Attainment or Qualification issued by another RTO for verification.

The documents must clearly list the units of competency

completed. All documents must be presented in a format consistent with the

Australian Qualifications Framework requirements and must be

submitted as certified copies of the original documents, certified by a Justice of the Peace or an authorised person.

Part 80 Credit Transfer Procedure

Students are required to complete and submit the Credit Transfer

Application Form (CTAF).

Certified copies of the relevant Statement of Attainment or

Qualification must be attached to the application.

Upon receipt of the application, ATI will verify the authenticity of the documents and assess eligibility for Credit Transfer. Where applicable, Credit Transfer will be granted for the relevant units of competency previously completed at another RTO.

The application form must be signed by the student prior to submission. Students will be notified of the outcome within five (5) working days from the date of receiving a complete application. Where Credit Transfer is granted, it will be recorded accordingly and may contribute towards the issuance of a Statement of Attainment or

Qualification.

Part 81 Credit Transfer Policy for NSW Security Course

Credit transfer for the NSW Security Licence Course may only be granted where the student has already achieved all required Units of Competency within the relevant SLC or SLC Cluster through a current SLED Approved Organisation, in accordance with SLED regulatory requirements.

For current SLED requirements, credit transfer may be granted

only where the relevant units or cluster were achieved on or after 1 June 2023. The Approved Organisation must notify SLED of the credit transfer when submitting the student enrolment notification, including the student's full details, USI, relevant units or clusters, the name of the previous SLED Approved Organisation, certificate/statement of attainment number, and issue date. Academus Training Institute will verify all evidence before granting credit transfer. Statements of attainment issued for security training not delivered for NSW licensing purposes cannot be accepted for credit transfer in a future SLC or SLC Cluster.

Part 82 Assessment-Only Pathway

The Assessment-Only Pathway may be considered where a

student has previous relevant experience, knowledge, skills, or prior security-related training and may be able to complete the required SLED mandated assessments without completing the full learning/training component.

However, the student must still complete and be deemed

competent in all required SLED mandated assessments before any qualification or Statement of Attainment can be issued. This pathway does not remove the assessment requirement.

Academus Training Institute must notify SLED in writing when

submitting the student enrolment notification if a student is intended to be enrolled through an Assessment-Only Pathway. The notification should include the student's full details, USI, the relevant SLC or cluster, certified copies of relevant qualifications or statements of attainment, and a current résumé outlining relevant experience.

Only training qualifications obtained through SLED Approved

Organisations are accepted for NSW Class 1 licence applications, and Class 1 applicants must complete the NSW Security Licence

Course through an Approved Organisation.

Part 83 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that assesses an individual's existing skills and knowledge gained through prior education, work experience, or other relevant activities, to determine if they meet the requirements of a unit of competency or qualification.

RPL may recognise skills obtained through

  • Previous formal education or training
  • Work experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Community or volunteer activities
  • Life experience relevant to the course However, Academus Training Institute (ATI) does NOT offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for any courses.

All students are required to

  • Undertake the full training and assessment as per course requirements
  • Complete all mandated units and assessments
  • Meet all regulatory and licensing requirements set by relevant authorities (including SLED where applicable) This approach ensures compliance with regulatory standards and maintains the integrity and quality of training delivery.
Part 84 Assessment Criteria

All assessment processes at Academus Training Institute (ATI)

are designed to provide students with clear and comprehensive information regarding the context, purpose, and procedures of assessment.

Students are provided with detailed assessment information,

including:  Assessment methods and requirements  Number and type of assessment tasks  Clear instructions and guidelines  Timeframes and submission requirements  Feedback processes  Reassessment opportunities  Appeals procedures  Alternative assessment methods (where applicable for special needs) Trainers and Assessors will explain all assessment requirements at the commencement of each unit or course to ensure students fully understand what is expected.

Part 85 Competency-Based Training and Assessment

Competency-Based Training (CBT) and assessment is the process

of collecting evidence and making judgements to confirm that a student can perform to the standards expected in the workplace as outlined in the relevant unit(s) of competency.

This approach ensures that students demonstrate

 Practical skills  Knowledge  Appropriate attitudes and behaviours required for the job role ATI recognises that individuals learn at different rates and in different ways. Competency-Based Training allows flexibility in how skills and knowledge are developed, whether through classroom learning, practical application, or a combination of both.

Part 86 Assessment Approach

Our assessment processes ensure that all students can

demonstrate competency in a fair, valid, reliable, and flexible manner, in line with:  Principles of Assessment (Fairness, Flexibility, Validity,

Reliability)

 Rules of Evidence (Validity, Sufficiency, Authenticity,

Currency)

Assessments are designed to reflect real workplace conditions

and ensure students are job-ready.

Part 87 Reasonable Adjustment

ATI recognises that not all students are able to demonstrate competency through standard assessment methods. Where required, reasonable adjustment will be applied to support individual learning needs, without compromising the integrity of the assessment.

Examples of reasonable adjustment may include

 Adjusting the delivery method  Providing additional support or guidance  Allowing verbal responses instead of written responses  Providing extra time to complete assessments  Using alternative assessment formats

However, reasonable adjustment will not compromise the

competency outcomes or the requirements of the training package or regulatory standards.

The inability to read or complete written assessments will not be considered a barrier, provided the student can demonstrate competency through alternative methods. For any further clarification, students are encouraged to contact their Trainer/Assessor or ATI management team.

Part 88 Feedback

Students will receive timely and constructive feedback on their performance in all assessment activities.

Feedback will

  • Clearly identify whether the student is Competent (C) or Not Yet

Competent (NYC)

  • Highlight areas of strength
  • Identify gaps in skills and knowledge
  • Provide guidance on how to improve performance Students assessed as Not Yet Competent (NYC) will be provided with additional feedback and support to assist them in achieving the required competency standard during reassessment.
Part 89 Reassessment

Students who are dissatisfied with their assessment outcome or are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) may request reassessment by contacting their Trainer or Assessor.

Students are entitled to

  • A maximum of three (3) assessment attempts per unit
  • No additional cost for reassessment within the same training batch If a student is still assessed as NYC after three attempts:
  • The student may be required to repeat the unit or cluster
  • Applicable re-enrolment or reassessment fees may apply Failure to attend a scheduled assessment will be treated as nonattendance, and an administrative fee may apply unless: (a) The student provides a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner confirming they were unfit to attend; or (b) The student provides valid evidence of exceptional or compassionate circumstances, such as serious illness or death of a close family member All reassessment arrangements will be conducted in accordance with ATI policies and regulatory requirements.
Part 90 Assessment Appeals Procedure

Students who wish to appeal an assessment decision must follow the Complaints and Appeals Procedure outlined in this handbook.

ATI is committed to ensuring that all assessment appeals are:

  • Managed fairly and transparently
  • Investigated thoroughly
  • Resolved in a timely manner

Appeals Process

  • The student must complete a Complaint and Appeal Form and submit it to the CEO, Trainer, or Administration within 21 days of the original assessment decision
  • The form is available via the website or can be requested from

ATI staff

  • A Trainer/Assessor will contact the student to:
  • Discuss the appeal
  • Arrange reassessment if required
  • Attempt to resolve the matter
  • Where necessary, ATI may engage an independent third party or panel agreed upon by all parties
  • Students may request an alternative Trainer/Assessor for reassessment
  • If the matter is not resolved internally, students may escalate the complaint to external bodies.
  • ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) is the national regulator and primary external point of contact
  • The Trainer/Assessor or CEO will provide a written outcome of the appeal, including reasons for the decision, within 21 days of receiving the appeal
Part 91 Candidates with Special Needs

A fundamental principle of assessment at Academus Training

Institute (ATI) is that all students must have access to fair, flexible, and inclusive assessment opportunities. Students with special needs will be provided with equal opportunity to participate in training and assessment.

Special needs may include, but are not limited to

  • Physical disabilities
  • Learning difficulties
  • Low language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills
  • Lack of confidence
  • Non-English speaking background Assessors will consider individual needs from the planning stage onwards and apply appropriate strategies to support the student while maintaining the integrity of the assessment process. Where appropriate and permitted under the training package and regulatory requirements, assessors may:
  • Use alternative assessment methods
  • Accept different forms of evidence
  • Provide additional support during assessment

All adjustments will comply with

  • Principles of Assessment
  • Rules of Evidence
  • Training Package and regulatory requirements (including SLED where applicable) Students are encouraged to declare any special needs during enrolment. ATI staff will contact the student to discuss suitable support options.
