First Aid & CPR Training (Australia)
First Aid training in Australia is delivered as nationally recognised units of competency that equip people to recognise and respond to medical emergencies, perform CPR (including AED use where available), and provide first aid care until professional medical help arrives. Training is aligned with current resuscitation and first aid guidelines, and assessment requires practical demonstration in realistic scenarios.
These units build practical capability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies. You will learn how to assess a scene, identify hazards, call for help, provide CPR, use an AED when available, manage bleeding and shock, and respond to common medical emergencies such as asthma and anaphylaxis. Training focuses on safe, structured decision-making, clear communication, and accurate incident reporting — supported by hands-on practice and scenario-based assessment.
Unit Overview and Pre-Enrolment Requirements. Please read carefully—these requirements form part of the enrolment conditions and must be completed within the required timeframe before attending your practical training session.
Before attending the practical training session, all students are required to complete essential online components to ensure they are adequately prepared for the course.
